Spiders getting ready for Halloween

This particular web was just outside the door... I think it's one that I may have walked through (America's Funniest would have had a hey-day with that one!) and that the spider repaired... but we thought it was cool with the dew on it in the morning... sure helped us to not have to buy any of the fake web stuff for Halloween!

Clowning Around...

So this is the clown costume that I made for Savannah for Halloween. She picked out the fabrics, and I made the costume... twice. Next year, I'm making a hat. That's all I'm doing. At least with a hat, I won't worry about cutting the costume out upside down or inside out or backwards or something so that I end up trying to figure out how to get it together! And there will be no trips to the fabric store and standing in line for 45 minutes for 1 yard of fabric that I shouldn't have to get... sometimes I think it would be easier to buy a costume, but what's the fun for me in that? Savannah was adorable in her costume, and loved to wear it and make her funny face. Personally, I think it turned out just fine... we'll see what she chooses next year... hopefully another "2-hour" project... (turned into 9 hours...) 

Halloween Night after Trick or treating

This was Savannah's first time trick or treating - she had a blast, and so did we! Andrew and I were grateful that Savannah was polite and didn't want to go to all the houses in the neighborhood... we went up one side of the street and down the other, and she was ready for some hot chocolate. Her candy has since been forgotten about, and the costume in the wash - somehow it got all sticky... I'm thinking it was a sucker or something. It was fun though! 

Halloween -

Andrew was a Longshoreman on vacation, Savannah was a clown, and I was wearing a cowboy costume. This was taken Halloween night at the Stahr's in front of their fireplace. We just couldn't get Savannah to look at the camera... 

A Stahr Gathering - for Pumpkin Carving

This is almost everyone who carved pumpkins - Aunt Patty isn't in the picture because she said she didn't carve a pumpkin (and that's the truth - I didn't carve a pumpkin either, but I still somehow managed to be in the photo... Not sure how that happened, but...)

We had new people this year - more family: Angie and Ben Barnum and their family and Russell Swalberg, from Aunt Margaret's line. 

Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere...

Savannah's pumpkin in the second little one - next to the one on it's side, not the one with the teeth. She was very proud of the fact that her pumpkin looked like her - at least that's the claim she was making! She scraped the seeds and everything - with help from Dad. Mom was inside making sure the buffet table had food for anyone who wanted to eat, and helping to keep the kids from playing with things they shouldn't have been. 

Clowning Around

Savannah claims that this is the kind of face that clowns make. She pulled this one every time someone asked her about her costume - usually went something like this: "I'm a clown. Wanna see my clown face?" And then even if the answer was no, she pulled this face. Her costume took FOREVER to make, but only because I cut the same side out twice... oh well. Next year, she'll be able to choose which clown costume she wants to wear! Our Halloween box is starting to look like Moms... (it's a good thing, trust me.)
